Bush Holds Commanding Lead in Political T-Shirt Race

While Presidential polls throughout the country remain neck-and-neck, one race isn't even close: sales of Presidential t-shirts. According to ChoiceShirts, the largest online retailer of printed shirts, support for President Bush is soaring over Senator John Kerry, with more than three- fourths of consumers choosing to purchase Republican t-shirts over Democratic shirts.
"Sales of political t-shirts are soaring because our customers are energized and opinionated about this year's Presidential election," said Matt Cohen, CEO of ChoiceShirts. "There's no better way to express your political preference than by making a statement without saying a word."
Since August, thousands of political t-shirts have been sold on ChoiceShirts.com with phrases ranging from "Kerry for President, of France" to "Let's Outsource Bush." ChoiceShirts carries 34 political t- shirt designs and prices start at $13.95.
As of October 14, Texas had sold the most political t- shirts of any state, 82.9% of which were Republican and 15.5% Democratic. California had sold the second largest amount of shirts, with 59.8% of consumers purchasing Republican shirts and 39.2% choosing Democratic. Florida rounded out the top three, with 73.1% of Floridians choosing Republican shirts and 26.9% purchasing Democratic merchandise. For customers who do not favor either candidate, ChoiceShirts offers a variety of "independent" voter t- shirts as well as the ability to customize several shirt selections with any name desired.
